Honestly, when I think of Licence To Kill, I think of those exploitative revenge films from the 70s.

This movie is definitely light on those moments. Previously in the franchise, the darkness was kind of in sections and tempered by lighter moments. Licence To Kill is one of the darkest of the Bond films. In this review Im talking about the UK 15-Rated version as the PG-13 Version in USA has some reduced scenes of blood. The MPAA required the more violent scenes to be edited before giving the Bond film a PG-13 rating. Licence To Kill (1989, Rated: PG-13/ 15) Licence To Kill is one of the best Bond movies by todays standards. In Licence To Kill, James Bond embarks upon an unsanctioned quest for revenge against drug lord Franz Sanchez after he has Felix Leiter, Bond’s close friend and ally, mauled by a shark and orders his new wife Della to be brutalized and then killed by his henchmen. Licence to Kill made several changes after receiving an R rating from the Motion Picture Association of America prior to the films release in 1989. The plot of the film has small elements pulled from two of Ian Fleming’s short stories but otherwise, it’s an original story. It’s also Timothy Dalton’s second and final outing as Bond. Licence To Kill is the sixteenth James Bond film from Eon Productions. With Timothy Dalton, Carey Lowell, Robert Davi, Talisa Soto. In the No Time To Die Countdown, Jake Tropila takes a look back at every Bond film official and unofficial in anticipation of the release of the latest entry. There are many things that I don’t like about Licence to Kill. Don't tune in for a early role for the future star alone.Content warnings for discussions about rape, abuse, images of violence against women, and fridging. If you didn't know what you were getting into before well you do now. It's not unmanageable to watch, but it strictly goes thru the numbers. Denzel is fine, but Donald Moffat (The Thing, Clear & Present Danger) is particularly effective as the defense attorney who serves his client well but the kind you love to hate.

Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) Passably entertaining.

James Farentino is effective as the father on the verge of obsession seeking justice as is Don Murray good as the drunk who doesn't think he did anything wrong. Licence to Kill is just the shot in the arm the James Bond series has been needing. Drunk behind the wheel in the early afternoon and portrayed as semi-wealthy and a snob. The film begins with a sensationally unbelievable stunt sequence (Bond and friend lasso a plane, then parachute to a wedding ceremony). Parents lose a daughter in this tale and there's no grey area. Irresponsible to operate a vehicle while intoxicated, but people still do it regardless.

It's a standard "perils of alcohol" made for TV movie and Denzel plays the small part of the prosecutor in the case. A common cheapo tactic of movies you find in bargain bins which I don't think my family knew. Released in the United Kingdom on 13 June, 1989, Licence to Kill is the fifth and last Bond film to be directed by John Glen, and the second and final film with. Timothy Dalton’s second Bond movie, Licence to Kill, was even darker and grittier than his first, The Living Daylights, and that movie was already pretty dark, as it established Dalton’s more faithful adaptation of the character from Ian Fleming’s novels. It sees Bond suspended from MI6 as he pursues the drug lord Franz Sanchez, who has ordered an attack against Bond's CIA friend Felix Leiter and the. One look at the box cover and I knew it was going to be a title made early in Denzel Washington's career. Licence to Kill is a 1989 action-thriller film, the sixteenth in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, and the second and final film to star Timothy Dalton as the MI6 agent James Bond. My family bought me 'License to Kill' many years ago for Christmas.
